This was the third in the set of my Sailomoon Paintings~ This time - the Sailor Starlights!

I love these guys/girls so much... hehehe, doing this illustration almost felt like a fashion poster - so posh!

This is, of the three illustrations, that I'm most excited about hanging up in my home... this one just looks so great. ♥

Thanks! and... I might?
I don't normally post old-ish art on my Tumblr, but I may have to revisit these illustrations! Hehe.

Wow!!!! This is really amazing piece of art! I wish the top part was slightly more saturated though, but I bet it's the scanner messing colours up as usual ^^;

sadly - it WAS. And I had to scan it in like... six parts [the actual illustration was 13x17, scanners' just 8x11...] there might've been some lift~
O well, it's mucho better in person. Like all traditional art, hehe.

Croquil nibs are sort of like calligraphy pens - but mostly used by western comic artists [eastern methods use the micron type pens].
and Dr. Martin Dyes are essentially a translucent water color. A dye, basically. They're more permanent so not as easy to fix a mistake like watercolors, which you can "lift", but I think they have a better and bolder color.
And thank you~

This is beautiful! I love how you added Diana in there...so you have one kittie in each illustration :) But yes it does look like a fashion poster, but because it's the Three Lights it's hard not to haha; The background is epic as always :heart:

Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful! Are the Dr. Martin dyes complicated to use? The results you achieve are amazing.

Actually, they're almost like working with watercolors except that they aren't easy to "lift" like you would watercolors. Since they're dyes, it's almost like a paper stain. But they're very translucent and build up great - and they blend amazingly well. I like the cel-shaded look they give to illustrations. If you can find some, try em' out, either through a friend or otherwise. A single vial can be costly [around 5 dollars] but if you pick up a single shade, use it to work on sepia-type stuff to see if you like it. ^^

The Sailor Starlights are portrayed differently if you are looking at the Manga, Anime, or English adaptations. Please refer to the Wiki on them for details. I prefer them in the Manga form, as how all of my Sailormoon-related illustrations follow. ♥
